was bleibt fest ist ein DIY Screamo Festival, welches am 2. August 2025 im P8 in Karlsruhe stattfindet - ein Tag voll feinstem noisigem Geballer, leidenschaftlichem Gekreische, veganer Essensstände und vielleicht einer klitzekleinen Aftershow.

Die Inspiration für das Festival waren unsere Gedanken über die sich verändernde Kulturlandschaft, den Verlust geliebter Räume und Zeiten, aber auch der verheißungsvolle Funken einer helleren Zukunft, die man gemeinsam mit guten Freund:innen gestalten und verbringen kann. Da wir im DIY-Kontext verwurzelt sind und eine ungefähre Vorstellung davon haben, wie die Dinge abseits vom absurd entfesselten Kommerz sein könnten, haben wir uns entschieden, dies mit unserer Liebe zu leidenschaftlichem und rohem Hardcore-Punk zu verbinden. Danse Macabre fasste all diese Gefühle bereits 2002 in Textzeilen:

Wir verstehen uns als links und sind gegen jede Art von Unterdrückung und Diskriminierung aufgrund von Ethnie, Geschlecht, Identität, Religion, Glauben, Körper oder sozialem Status. Wenn du damit nicht einverstanden bist, bist du nicht willkommen!

Wir haben unsere Ticketpreise in drei Kategorien gestaffelt um möglichst vielen Menschen den Zugang zum Fest zu ermöglichen. Zahl soviel du kannst. Alle drei Kategorien lassen sich über die Vorverkaufsseite vom P8 bestellen (tickets.p-acht.org). Der VVK hilft uns enorm das Fest besser zu planen - wenn es dir also möglich ist das Ticket im Voraus zu kaufen, wären wir seeeehr dankbar.

IM WASSER In Scherben und doch erträglich... Im Wasser erschaffen ein Geflecht aus tiefgehendem Post-Rock, der in melancholischen Weiten schwebt, durchzogen von intensiven Screamo-Ausbrüchen deren teilweise Spoken-Word-Vocals einen Dialog zwischen Verzweiflung und Hoffnung zulassen. Neben der ständigen Leere und dem Ins-Wanken-Geraten ebendieser fragilen Hoffnung erschaffen Im Wasser eine ganz besondere Intensität, die uns anhält innezuhalten, nachzudenken, loszulassen, aufzugeben, gemeinsam durchzuhalten. DEATH GOALS „Life is neither a curse nor a blessing“ - it's a scream. DEATH GOALS brennen ein Loch in dein Herz mit einem Sound, der dich umhaut:
 Post-Hardcore trifft auf Screamo, noisy Rock verschmilzt mit Metalcore, während Texte über psychische Gesundheit, queere Identität und politischen Widerstand alles, was bequem war, niederbrennen. Dies ist Queercore in seiner radikalsten Form: Ehrlich, intensiv und ungeschönt. Es trifft dich in den Magen, in das Gesicht, ins Herz.

KONOHA „…con un buco nel petto – with a hole in my chest.“ Konoha tragen diesen Schmerz offen vor sich her. Das Quintett aus Modena steht exemplarisch für eine neue Welle italienischer Screamo-Bands, die mit roher Intensität und emotionaler Tiefe berührt. Schnelle, sich überstürzende Ausbrüche treffen auf verspielte, fast zerbrechliche Momente. Der italienischsprachige Gesang verstärkt dabei die Dringlichkeit ihrer Musik – unmittelbar, intensiv und voller Verletzlichkeit. Eine Musik, die nicht auf Abstand bleibt, sondern sich mitten ins Herz bohrt. Ein Loch in der Brust – und doch so viel Gefühl darin.

I PRACTICE SAYING SORRY TO YOU SO I CAN DO IT IN FRONT OF THE MIRROR ONE DAY Juhu, endlich mal wieder eine Band mit langem Namen. Damit ist alles gesagt. Fast. IPSSTYSICDIIFOTM aus Leipzig spielt Skramz mit typisch roughem Soundgewand und erinnert stark an Szeneheld:innen wie Your Arms Are My Cocoon. Mit ihrem im vergangenen Februar veröffentlichtem Debüt, das nur so vor Szenecharme sprüht, haben wir eine sehr junge Band dabei, deren Texte in insgesamt 6 verschiedenen Sprachen gesungen, geschrien, gekeift werden. Ihre Musik ist ein intensives und fesselndes Geflecht aus Schmerz und Hoffnung, das immer wieder die Frage nach der eigenen Bedeutung im endlosen Wirbel der Welt stellt. „live - laugh - love.“ Ob sie auch das berühmte Cover des Covers des Covers in der Eigeninterpretation spielen werden? (U’ll know when u know…) „No more you, no more me, there would be only us.“

JOTA JOTA entfesseln einen Sound, der keine Kompromisse kennt:
 (Post-)Hardcore, der unter die Haut geht.
 Atmosphärische Passagen, die in die Tiefe ziehen,
 durchzogen von fragilen und treibenden Elementen des Screamo und Black Metal. Ihre Musik ist ein Spiegelbild der menschlichen Erfahrung –
 von Verlust und Sehnsucht bis hin zu der Erkenntnis,

the inspiration for the festival were our thoughts about the changing cultural landscape, the loss of beloved spaces and times, but also the promising spark of a brighter future, which can be formed and spent together with good friends. being rooted in a DIY context and having an idea of how things might be apart from the grinding brainrot of commercialization, we decided to combine this with our love of passionate and harsh hardcore music. danse macabre formed all these feelings into words back in 2002:

we consider ourselves left wing and are against all kinds of oppression and discrimination because of race, gender, sex, identity, religion, belief, body or social status. if you disagree, you are not welcome!

We have divided our ticket prices into three categories to give as many people as possible access to the festival. Pay as much as you can. All three categories can be ordered via the P8 presale page (tickets.p-acht.org). The presale helps us to plan the festival better - so if you are able to buy the ticket in advance, we would be super very grateful.

IM WASSER In shards and yet bearable…. Im Wasser create a web of profound post-rock that floats in melancholic expanses, interspersed with intense screamo outbursts whose partly spoken-word vocals allow for a dialog between despair and hope. In addition to the constant emptiness and the wavering of this very fragile hope, Im Wasser create a special intensity that forces us to pause, reflect, let go, give up and persevere together. KONOHA “...con un buco nel petto - with a hole in my chest.” Konoha carry this pain openly in front of them. The quintet from Modena is exemplary of a new tide of Italian screamo bands that touch with raw intensity and emotional depth. Fast, rushing meet with playful, almost fragile moments. The Italian-language vocals reinforce the urgency of their music - immediate, intense and full of vulnerability. Music that does not remain at a distance, but drills right into the heart. IPSSTYSICDIIFOTM from Leipzig play skramz with a typically raw sound and are strongly reminiscent of scene heroes like Your Arms Are My Cocoon. With their debut album released last February, which is bursting with scene charm, we have a very young band with us, whose lyrics are sung, shouted and nagged in a total of 6 different languages. Their music is an intense and captivating weave of pain and hope that constantly raises the question of one's own meaning in the endless whirl of the world. live - laugh - love. JOTA JOTA unleash a sound that knows no compromise: (post-)hardcore that gets under your skin. Atmospheric passages that draw you into the depths, interspersed with fragile and driving elements of screamo and black metal. Their music is a reflection of the human experience - from loss and longing to the realization that nothing in life is permanent. Jota unite lasting emptiness with pain and hope.
